Web Shorts Site Design serves as the chief development staff for new dynamic functionality on DWfaq.com. If it touches a database, we've probably developed it. The list of features added to DWfaq include (among other things):
The Snippets Exchange is a code sharing/reuse resource for web developers. Registered users of the site can download code snippets for Dreamweaver, maintain a running list of snippets they've download and even submit new snippets to the community. The Snippets Exchange has almost 300 snippets and more than 100,000 downloads.
Web Shorts built the entire DWfaq store from scratch. Part of the requirements of the store was to allow multiple merchants to sell from one common marketplace. This means adding security features to prevent merchants from seeing each other's data, while at the same time making it possible for the site owners to view all of the sales for all merchants. The back-end admin areas for the site administrators and merchants are completely custom-built, allowing for multiple reporting options in order to track individual product sales. Additionally, payments are verified in real-time and downloads are provided to customers immediately via email. We even liked the way the store turned out so much that we decided to sell our own products there.
The DWfaq site is mainly a community resource of tutorials, written by any one of some 20 authors. In order to allow the individual author personalities to show throughout the site, we developed a custom style changer application, which allows a viewer to choose any of the individual author styles for the entire site. In addition, viewers can change every aspect of the font sizes as well, making the site completely malleable.
The work Web Shorts has put into the DWfaq.com website has helped to make it one of the most popular and well known Dreamweaver resources on the internet today.
